I met Ellen in the early spring of 2003. Since then, it has been my extreme pleasure to get to know her in the context of coworker, painter, neighbor, and friend. We have shared working space in intimately close quarters, both in the ambulance and in her studio. In the process, she has given life to numerous wonderful works of art, and worked with me to preserve lives that were fleeting. Ellen's artwork, since the beginning of my time to know her, has captivated my eyes and emotions. There is a mangrove swamp where I will forever drift in my greenest dreams. And a blue boy, with a guitar and a quizical chicken--wherever it is now, I wonder, "Do the owners see me in that scene?" Ellen Langford is a living treasure to Fondren, and the City of Jackson. Her artwork exemplifies the landscapes, the people, and the spirit of the Mississippi I love.

A new painting by Ellen Langford.

Ellen's work can be found all around the Jackson-Metro area. Currently, Brown's Gallery, on Fondren Place in Jackson, has several pieces. The Attic Gallery in Vicksburg regularly displays works by Ellen as well as other noteable Mississippi artists.
